Launched on June 28, 2011 as an invitation-only "field test," Google+ invitations were soon suspended due to an "insane demand" for new accounts. Then on September 20, 2011, Google+ was opened to everyone. Google+ is Google's fourth attempt at a social media platform.
What are Circles, Hangouts and Sparks? How are Badges the same or different from Facebook's Like Box? Is there really an online photo editor integrated into Google+? And why do we care? Is Google+ really likely to threaten the domination of Facebook? On January 19, 2012, it was reported that Google+ may total 400 million members by the end of 2012. I guess we'd better be paying attention.
Eric von Foerster--a Web master and marketing consultant--has been using Google+ enthusiastically since its debut, and this Wednesday at 1pm he is going to share with us the benefits of investing effort in yet another social media platform. This discussion "The Basics of Google+,The Next Generation of Business Networking" follows the Friends of Facebook gathering at 11:30, so you can do both face-to-face networking and learn about a new online networking platform in the same visit! |

Lenora Edwards is the business coach that got OfficeXpats off the ground. We worked with her for about eight months, and have often looked back with appreciation for the guidance and confidence she gave us along the road to building a credible business. Now you too can have some bite-size tastes of what she has to offer. She has posted videos of a presentation she gave to the Washington State chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), and they are broken down into short topics of a few minutes each, with each segment focusing on a specific tactic she's found to be particularly effective for entrepreneurs. How many days each month would you use OfficeXpats?
Get work done in a productive, professional, and socially supportive environment. Or using a reserved conference room to host six people for a 2-hr meeting. Or both! You could even invite additional meeting attendees to join by Skype video conference.
- 3 days/month (Basic) $69
- 5 days/month $105
- 10 days/month $180
- 15 days/month $250
- Full time $320
- Add unlimited after hours/weekend access to any level $75/month
 Add a Pavilion gym membership to any level for just $20/month- Flextime Punch Card $60: Drop in 6 times for up to 2 hours each. That works out to $5/hr, and you get free coffee! Does not include use of conference rooms.
Note that memberships are limited to staffed business hours (8:30-5:30pm). Add after hours/weekends for $75/month.

OfficeXpats on Bainbridge Island is a workplace solution beyond commuting to the corporate office or working from home.
Coworking is about making the personal choice to work alongside other people instead of in isolation. We offer a shared "community" office for remote workers, independent consultants, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
OfficeXpats is located upstairs in the Pavilion on Madison, just a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal, through beautiful downtown Winslow. We hope to help you in your quest for 'new ways to work.'
