This is a big week. Wednesday I'm going to a UW Internship Fair to see if we can inspire some young, incredibly smart but inexperienced student to help us grow our community. Thursday we host (and hope to see you all at) the Chamber of Commerce After Hours (5:30-7:30). And don't miss the first Kanban session this Friday at 11am. Whew!

 

Note that the special pricing for full time membership is ending soon. If you call us to sign up by January 31 and renew automatically, your full time membership is only $272 per month for all of 2012. Think about it!

Business Basics Coaching and Collaboration Brown Bag

 

Israel Sanchez, or "Coach Izzy," is a strength and conditioning coach and pain therapist. That's his profession and his expertise, i.e. he's put in his 10,000 hours and he is very good at what he does. So how does slinging code in Facebook fit into his bag of tricks? Like many of the entrepreneurs and "businesses of one" that tend to gravitate to coworking, Izzy has to get good at new things fast to keep his business humming, and he's agreed to share how he conquered some customization of his Facebook page.

 

Q: What do you LOVE to do that you're good at? Izzy: I love writing, learning about the human body, SCUBA diving, and making sure I understand how to run my business effectively.

 

Q: For the Tuesday focus, what are you sharing that you can recommend as "DIY" (do it yourself)?

Izzy: I'm going to walk you through the steps I discovered to customize my Facebook page. You will learn how visitors are prompted to subscribe to my newsletter by taking advantage of a free offer. It really works!

 

Q: What areas of your experience do you think were critical to making this project work, that made you successful?

Izzy: I'm very intentional about my business planning, and I love making effective use of resources, such as technology.

 

Followup: Jason can offer one-on-one technical guidance during his Tuesday office hours.

Chamber of Commerce "After Hours"Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce

OfficeXpats is hosting the Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce "After Hours" this Thursday, 5:30-7:30. All of the restaurants in the Pavilion are contributing food, so you can eat your way around the world from Japan to India to Mexico and end up back home with local fresh cuisine all in one evening! Even the movie theaters are offering goodies. We stayed up too late last night making chocolate truffles. It should be a good party... ahem... networking event.

How many days each month would you use OfficeXpats? 
Get work done in a productive, professional, and socially supportive environment. Or using a reserved conference room to host six people for a 2-hr meeting. Or both! You could even invite additional meeting attendees to join by Skype video conference.  
 
  • 3 days/month (Basic)  $69
  • 5 days/month  $105
  • 10 days/month  $180
  • 15 days/month  $250
  • Full time  $320 (only $272 through Jan 2012)
  • Add unlimited after hours/weekend access to any level  $75/month
  • OfficeXpats Flextime punch cardsAdd a Pavilion gym membership to any level for just $20/month
  • Flextime Punch Card $60: Drop in 6 times for up to 2 hours each. That works out to $5/hr, and you get free coffee! Does not include use of conference rooms.

Note that memberships are limited to staffed business hours (8:30-5:30pm). Add after hours/weekends for $75/month.
