If you who stopped in for our Coworking Day celebration last Tuesday, you saw that our space is taking shape beautifully. However, many of the details are still falling into place, so our projected opening date of August 15th (today!) needs to slip by one week. We will now open on Monday, August 22.
Then, on Friday evening, August 26th, our doors will open to the sustainability networking group Bainbridge Green Drinks. Anyone can come, and it's free! Being an independent worker and avoiding long commutes is green already, but if you have a business that promotes a sustainability practice or product, you definitely want to get to know the folks who attend Green Drinks. |

OfficeXpats 'Beta': Two Weeks of Free Coworking!
We've decided to throw the doors open on August 22 to anyone who would like to try coworking. For free. Until September 1. For those of you who have joined already, the clock doesn't start ticking on your membership until next month. Just drop by, sign in, and enjoy free wifi, coffee, and tea. You can reserve conference rooms and invite guests. You can even try out the videoconferencing or printing or scanning. It will be a trial period for us, of course, so it will help us prepare for 'show time' if you show up and test us out. We look forward to the challenge! And please help us spread the word. |
Jason Scores a Foosball table at the Rotary Auction

The Rotary Auction is one of our favorite summer events, and since foosball was in the plan for OfficeXpats, Jason carefully checked out his options at the Friday night preview. He was in line very early Saturday (of course), and while waiting for the official opening, a 7-yr-old girl standing in line right next to him was interviewed for the Auction radio. Horrors--Jason overheard her saying that she was going for a foosball table!
Well, long story short, Jason didn't have to take down a 2nd grader in his sprint to score this table shown here. The girl was apparently enamored with a different table that had some fancy electronic bells and whistles, so all he had to do was make deals with other nearby stake-claimers to trade off standing guard over each other's finds while the other one went to pay for their item. Success is a delicate balance between cooperation and competition. |

Who We Are |
OfficeXpats on Bainbridge Island is a response to the growing need for a solution beyond working at the corporate office or working from home.
Coworking is about making the personal choice to work alongside other people instead of in isolation. We offer a shared office environment that meets the conferencing and community needs of remote workers, independent consultants, and entrepreneurs.
OfficeXpats is located in the Pavilion on Madison, just a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal. We hope to help you in your quest for 'new ways to work.'
