Greetings!

We are pleased to provide this month's email newsletter from the GCA.  If you have trouble viewing it, please let us know. As always, we welcome your feedback.

Golf Cart Abuse

Cart & License

We have mentioned this many times before, but there are still a significant number of under-age youngsters driving golf carts around Glenmore roads. This is dangerous. Golf cart drivers must be in possession of a driving license. Please do not allow your young family members to do this!

Stocking the Ponds

Stocking Fish 1Stocking Fish 2Stocking Fish 3
At the end of May, Common Area Review Board members assisted in stocking the GCA's largest pond, Glen Lochan, with minnows.  In all, some 18,000 minnows and 4,000 catfish were added to Glen Lochan and Paddington Pond in an effort to minimize mosquitoes and keep the water clean and healthy.

Construction Impact Fee Approved

House Under Construction

At the Special Meeting held on June 16, the proposal to introduce Construction Impact Fees was officially approved by the membership.  Voting was in favor of the proposal by an overwhelming 97%, so it will now be formally recorded as an amendment to our Covenants and Restrictions. The fees will be collected from new construction in the Leake and Livengood sections beginning in January 2012.  Thank you to all who voted, allowing us to meet the 30% quorum requirement.

Roadside Posts Update
New Post

Fifty roadside posts of the new design (left) are now in place throughout Glenmore.  They have proved so successful in providing an improved appearance compared to the previous design that an additional batch has been ordered.  Most of the old posts have now been removed, and the GCA board is appreciative of the cooperation shown by residents during this transition. Please note that no unauthorized posts are permitted.  We have provided a form on our website where residents may request that additional posts are considered.

Road Maintenance Nearly Finished
Road Works

This year's road maintenance activity is nearly complete.  S.L. Williamson Co. Inc. has again provided high quality resurfacing, which has received positive comments from many residents.  However, please be on the lookout over the next few weeks for some minor activity involving crack-filling and striping.  Any comments or questions should be addressed to the Roads Committee.

4th July Parade

July 4 character

The Country Club will be hosting a July 4th parade, starting at 11:00 AM.  Residents and their families are welcome to join the parade.  You can decorate bikes, cars, golf carts, or just walk.  Please note that some roads, including a section of Piper Way, will be closed to vehicles between about 10:45 AM and 11:45 AM.  We will publish more specific information on this nearer the time.
