Hwy 33 Project Update                           Roundabout Tutorial

Construction baricadeThe curbing crews are scheduled to return and stay on site until almost all concrete work is completed in preparation for paving.  There will be additional lane restrictions at Market Street and Northwoods Road in order for the curbing crews to work in these areas.  With a few exceptions, all storm sewer work will be done next week.  It is still anticipated to begin paving the first week of May.

 

Please note that STH 33 will be closed the evenings of April 23rd and 24th from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.  The closure will affect only the area between the I43 ramps.  Vehicles will be able to right turn off or on to I43 during this time.  Only emergency responders will be allowed through.

 

As always, motorists are cautioned to watch for flagmen, dump trucks, and heavy equipment leaving and entering the work zone.

River Fest 2012 - Volunteers Needed

Rjiver Fest 1River Fest, Saukville's annual community clean-up, is Saturday, May 19th beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Grady Park.  Volunteers can sign up at Village Hall, online, or the morning of the event at Grady Park.  Advanced registration is preferred but not required.

 Mark your Calendars - 2012 Spring Clean Up Dumpsters

The Village is again pleased to provide residents with clean up dumpster service at the Public Works Garage.  This service is available for 3 Saturdays only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - April 21st, April 28th, & May 5th.  All the usual prohibitions apply; no tires, no hazardous materials, no appliances or any other items prohibited from land fill disposal.  Identification will be required to utilize the service. The Village reserves the right to refuse excess amounts or questionable materials.  Please call Village Hall in advance if you have questions about what is accepted.

 

Recycle ElectronicsElectronics Collection

Veolia Environmental has again offered to provide dumpster service for the collection of electronic items such as TVs, computer and printer equipment, microwaves, telephones, etc.  This service will be available ONE DAY ONLY on May 5th at the Public Works Garage from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  REMEMBER... to use this service, you must PRE-REGISTER at Village Hall to receive a pass card.  You must present this card on May 5th at time of disposal. No exceptions.

Oscar Grady Library Events

artDuring the month of April, the Oscar Grady Library is hosting the 2012 Port Washington-Saukville School District Art Show. The art show consist of some of the finest artwork created by kindergarten through twelfth grade students in a wide variety of art mediums.  Make sure to stop by and view some local student art!

Annual Book Sale:  The Friends of the Oscar Grady Library are unloading boxes and sorting through a massive amount of used and contributed books to get ready for this year's sale.  The Book Sale will take place Tuesday, April 24th through Saturday, April 28th in the Community Room at the Oscar Grady Library, during regular library hours.  Items for sale will include hardcover books, paperbacks, children's books in a wide variety of genres. All proceeds will benefit the library in support of programming for all ages.  Make sure to come early for the best selection!

CompostThe Village Compost Drop-off Site is open Saturdays Only, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

Curbside Branch Chipping runs every Monday, time and weather permitting.  Branches must be curbside by 6:00 a.m. on Mondays.  There will be NO CHIPPING during holiday weeks:  Memorial Day, July 4th, & Labor Day.

 

Residents can pick-up woodchips, collected from curbside chipping, at the DPW yard.  You will need to bring a container and pitch fork or shovel to containerize your own chips.  The Village will deliver woodchips, however you must accept a full truck load (3-5 yards).  We will not come back to pick up any unused woodchips.
