The storm sewer work in Saukville should be completed by April 6th. The grading crews continue to work on preparing the new road base. The tentative plan calls for the curbing and driveways to be constructed the week of April 16th.

I43 Update
The crew will be completing driving pile and forming up the new column supports. The decking removal will begin the week of April 9th. The first overnight closure of STH 33 is planned for April 11th or 12th. It is planned to allow only emergency vehicles through if necessary.
Due to the time of year and potential for wet spring weather, schedules are subject to change. |

| Compost Site - Early Opening | |

Due to early mild weather, the DPW Compost site is open earlier this year. The final day of limited hours: Saturday, April 7th - 9:00 a.m. - Noon.
Beginning April 14th, the drop off site will be open the normal seasonal hours of Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. |

| Village's Annual Easter Egg Hunt | |

This year's Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 7th, at Grady Park, beginning at 10:00 a.m. (Rain or Shine). This event is for children ages 9 and under. There will be treats for all, prizes for the lucky few, and a visit from the Easter Bunny! This annual event is sponsored by the Saukville Moose Lodge and Saukville American Legion Post #470. |

The 2012 1st Quarter utility bills were mailed this week. If you did not receive your green postcard b ill, please call the Village office.
The Saukville Water Department will be flushing hydrants throughout the Village weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. April 9th through April 20th. There may be some discoloration in your water during this process. This is iron and is not harmful. We recommend that you do not do laundry if your water is discolored. Running the tap for a short period of time will clear the lines after the flushing in your area is completed. Please be aware of workers and equipment in the roadway and slow down when traveling around them. |

Join us for our annual "One Book, One Community" reading experience! This is our joint community event with Neiderkorn Library in Port Washington. The 2012 book choice is A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. Please join us for the Saukville book discussion event at Oscar Grady Library on April 17th. |

Mark your Calendars- 2012 Spring Clean Up Dumpsters | |
The Village is again pleased to provide residents with clean up dumpster service at the Public Works Garage. This service will be available 3 Saturdays only, from 9 am to 3 pm; April 21st, April 28th, and May 5th. All the usual prohibitions apply; no tires, no hazardous materials, no appliances or any other items prohibited from land fill disposal. Identification will be required to utilize the service. The Village reserves the right to refuse excess amounts or questionable materials. Please call Village Hall in advance if you have questions about what is accepted.
Electronics Collection
Veolia Environmental has again offered to provide dumpster service for the collection of electronic items such as TVs, computer and printer equipment, microwaves, telephones, etc. This service will be available ONE DAY ONLY on May 5 at the Public Works Garage from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To use this service you MUST pre-register in advance at Village Hall to receive a pass card that must be presented at the time of disposal. No exceptions. |

- Mock Tornado Watch - 1:00 p.m.
- Mock Tornado Warning - 1:45 p.m.
Quick facts you should know about tornadoes:
- They may strike quickly, with little or no warning.
- They may appear nearly transparent until dust and debris are picked up or a cloud forms in the funnel.
- The average tornado moves Southwest to Northeast, but tornadoes have been known to move in any direction.
- The average forward speed of a tornado is 30 mph, but may vary from stationary to 70 mph.
- Tornadoes can accompany tropical storms and hurricanes as they move onto land.
- Waterspouts are tornadoes that form over water.
- Tornadoes are most frequently reported east of the Rocky Mountains during spring and summer months.
- Peak tornado season in the southern states is March through May; in the northern states, it is late spring through early summer.
- Tornadoes are most likely to occur between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., but can occur at any time.

The Oscar Grady Public Library has federal and state tax forms for patron use. However, each year more and more Wisconsin taxpayers are filing their state and federal income tax returns electronically. E-filing is a free and secure way to file your income tax returns. It also allows those receiving refunds to get them within days, rather than weeks, by using direct deposit.
