STH 33 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT - UPDATE

Crews are continuing to work on the storm sewer,  constructing  from west to east.   Work continues on the road base on the south half of the expanded portion of highway. Curbing work may begin as early as next week. The remaining utility poles in Saukville should be removed the week of August  15.

To reduce frustration with traffic backups, pre-plan your travel through the area.  Do your shopping in the evening when traffic volumes are down.  Use CTH W and Mink Ranch Road or CTH W to Sauk Road to drive to Port Washington.  If you are traveling north on I43 to go to Saukville, take exit 93 ( Hwy. 32/CTH V), go south and turn right onto CTH W and go north.

As always, please slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel when driving through the project limits.  Proceed with extreme caution.   The contractor and WisDOT are making every effort to ensure a timely schedule.

Please continue to support our local businesses.

August Adult Book Discussions:  August 24th - 6:30 p.m.Night-book

Join the  discussion on  Elie Wiesel's Night.  Born in the town of Sighet, Transylvania, Elie Wiesel was a teenager when he and his family were taken from their home in 1944 to the Auschwitz concentration camp and then to Buchenwald. This book is the terrifying record of Elie Wiesel's memories of the death of his family, and the death of his own innocence and his despair as a deeply observant Jew confronting the absolute evil of man.

Copies of this book are available for check-out at the circulation desk.  Registration is recommended to reserve your copy of the discussion book. Please call the library at (262) 284-6022 to register.

Grady Park - Lighting Project

The Village is in the process of installing new lighting at the Grady Park tennis courts.  There will be no lights on the courts until at least August 15th, but the courts will still be open for play.  This schedule is weather dependent.  When the project is complete, there will be new energy efficient LED lights for the courts and a new light pole for the batting cage.

Emergency Preparedness

Disaster KitSeptember marks the ten year anniversary of 9/11.  As we take time to remember those lost in the attacks, we need to make time to prepare for future emergencies.  September is National Preparedness Month.  This is the moment to determine if you and your family are prepared for the unexpected.

Emergencies can happen at anytime and anywhere.  From severe weather like tornadoes and winter storms, to train derailments, and other disasters.  This September, please take the time to review your family's emergency plan.  What would you do if you had to go for a few days without electricity, water service, access to a supermarket, pharmacy, or other local services?  If you do not have a family emergency plan, this is the time to make one.
