STH 33 Reconstruction Project

Traffic has now been switched to the north side of Hwy. 33 east of I43. The rest of the road segment has been reduced to one lane in each direction.  Please note that the intersection of Northwoods Road is now a 4-WAY STOP as well as at Market Street.

With the temporary signals now operable at Foster Drive and the I43 ramps, underground crews will begin work on the storm sewer in this area.

To reduce frustration with traffic backups, pre-plan your travel through the area.  Do your shopping in the evening when traffic volumes are down.  Use  CTH W and Mink Ranch road to drive to Port Washington. If you are traveling north on I43, exit at Hwy. 32(CTH V), go south and turn right onto CTH W and go north to Saukville.

As always, please slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel when driving through the project limits.  Proceed with extreme caution.

Tree City USA
2011 marks the Village's 23rd consecutive year as a Tree City Community  member. There are approximately 180 Tree City Communities state wide.  This reflects on the Villages efforts to plant and maintain it's urban forest along our streets,  in our parks, and on our municipal properties. Likewise, the Village promotes the planting of trees on private property to enhance value, improve aesthetics, provide shade, and attract songbirds.

Water Conservation Tips
  • Keep it cool.  Water your lawn and plants early in the morning when the sun's rays aren't working to evaporate your water.
  • Let it grow.  Adjust the height of your lawnmower to cut your grass higher.  This helps protect roots from heat stress and reduces the loss of moisture to evaporation.
  • Sidewalks don't need water.  Avoid planting turf in areas that are difficult to irrigate properly such as steep inclines and isolated strips along sidewalks and driveways.
  • Conserve water naturally.  Select plants that are native to your region and can thrive with little or no extra watering.  Your local nursery can help you identify and

    select drought-tolerant plants.
