Every new year brings new things. Starting this month we will be offering all of our parishioners another convenient way to support our parish. All across the country churches are offering online giving in addition to the traditional church envelope system we have used for years.
Online givers are parishioners who, through prayer and reflection, choose an automated way to exercise good financial stewardship. |

Online giving provides lots of benefits for our parishioners and the parish:
- Online giving provides parishioners with an opportunity to budget their contributions and keep their church as a priority when it comes to financial stewardship.
- When people use online giving, the Parish has a much better idea of how much revenue will come in each week and can plan accordingly.
- Some credit cards give travel miles or award points. With online giving you can take advantage of these benefits and still support our church.
- Lots of people are very comfortable making purchases or paying their bills online; for some it is just more convenient.
- Online giving is much more secure and safer than cash gifts.
- When people choose online giving, their contributions are automatically recorded in the parish census. This type of record keeping is less time consuming for the parish staff and more cost effective than envelope mailings.
- Not everyone attends Mass each week (for a variety of reasons). Online giving ensures that the parish regularly receives the intended gifts as planned by the parishioners, even if they can't make it to church that week.
- With Online giving, the giver is in complete control and can change or stop their contributions at anytime for any reason.
Rest assured that anyone who wants to continue using the envelopes is certainly free to do so. This service is only being offered as a convenience for those who wish to use it.
