Greetings Friends of the Museum!

Amazing things have been transpiring over the winter

months to blossom into an exciting spring!

The Museum has fresh vibrant colors and bright new lighting upstairs thanks to a grant from Lincoln County Convention and Visitors Bureau!

SHIVER ME TIMBERS!! A Pirate Ship has landed on the first floor of the Children's Museum thanks to grants from Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation, Walmart Distribution Center, and Walmart!

Pirate World is a room filled with a wooden pirate ship that has two levels. You will be able to navigate your way through the rough waters on the top level with our authentic looking steering wheel and map to guide you. The bottom deck is complete with Captains quarters, portholes, a treasure chest filled with "bounty", swords and costumes.

So, dress like a pirate, and join us in a pirate song to celebrate this new exhibit:

"I'm a pirate! That I be! I sail me ship upon the sea! I stay up late-til half past three! And that's a peg below me knee!"

The Ways of Our World

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Respect the Children's Museum and others around you.

Bug Safari

The Denver Butterfly Pavilion will be venturing to North Platte with 9 of their invertebrate friends. You will have the opportunity to get an up close look at tarantulas, cockroaches, hermit crabs, black widows, scorpions and millipedes. Don't miss the creepy-crawlBug Safariy good time!

Basket Extravaganza

The Museum is having it's annual Silent Auction "basket" Fundraiser. This will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at The Depot from 5:30 - 8:00 PM.

Tickets are $15 per person and includes drinks and appetizers. Tickets can be purchased at the Museum.

Volunteers Needed

The North Platte Area Children's Museum is always seeking reliable and dependable volunteers to help in many different areas. (Receptionist, maintenance, exhibit helpers, cleaning and painting)

We welcome service organizations, student groups, students involved in a class project, retired educators, civic minded individuals, and those interested in giving of their time to make a difference in the life of a young child.

To become a volunteer all you need to do is stop by the Children's Museum to fill out a volunteer application and Successfully complete a background check.

The end of the school year is quickly approaching! Book your class field trip now, as dates are filling up quickly!

3. Reciprocal: $100.00/year - This membership is reciprocal to over 175 participating museums across the United States. It includes two adult

guests, dependent children plus 2 guests.

A daycare and up to five (5) children under the direct care of the day care center.
