Proverbs 4:18 (NIV)
The path of the righteous
is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. |
| Thought 4 Today |
I awaken several days a week
at 5:00am for prayer at the church. When we leave the house at 5:30 it is still
dark outside. Before the 20-minute ride to the church is over the first light
of day is breaking through and I can see the hills, though dimly. When prayer
is over and we head back home about seven full light has come. The brightness
continues to increase until it reaches a zenith. In the Scripture above God
is telling the righteous that though you may start off in darkness, your life
will continue to get brighter and brighter. In other words the promise of God
is that as long as you are walking with Him, your life will get better and
better. Your life is destined to improve! It has to improve! God has decreed
it! And, everything must obey God! The same God who said, "Let there be light,"
said that your life would get brighter and brighter. So, it has to be, as long
as you are living a righteous life. God has even commanded that all things will
work together for your good! I am 58 years old now and my
life is far better than it was when I was 18, 28, 38, or 48. If I could press a
button and go back to those years, I wouldn't. Not only is my life better, but
I am better. No one loses by giving his
or her life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
