Psalms 143:3-4 AMP
3 For the enemy has pursued and persecuted my soul, he has crushed my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in dark places as those who have been long dead. 4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed and faints within me [wrapped in gloom]; my heart within my bosom grows numb." |

The Psalms are marvelous! They record every possible human condition and emotion. That is why so many people turn to the Psalms when they feel bad and need comfort and encouragement. It is comforting to know that you are not alone in the way that you feel and that others have had their low moments too, even great men of faith, like David. David knew God like few others. David was a true worshiper of God. He was a King, and he was exceedingly wealthy. He had many victories under his belt as he fought the Lord's battles. As a teenage warrior he had been the one to kill the giant Goliath, and that had brought him great national fame. Despite all of this, David had moments of gloom, sadness, depression, anxiety, loneliness, and all of the other emotions that we all deal with. He also experienced the wonderful, positive emotions of being one of God's children. He knew what it was like to feel such extreme joy that he had to dance! My friend, you will find yourself in the Psalms! You will be surprised and shocked to learn of the great people who have felt the very things that you have felt in your life. You are normal! You are not odd, or the only one who has strange thoughts and weird emotions. Yes, being normal is good news! |
| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
