| Scripture 4 Today |
1 Timothy 1:15-16 Amplified Bible
The saying is sure and true
and worthy of full and universal acceptance, that Christ Jesus (the Messiah)
came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.
But I obtained mercy for
the reason that in me, as the foremost [of sinners], Jesus Christ might show
forth and display all His perfect long-suffering and patience for an example to
[encourage] those who would thereafter believe on Him for [the gaining of]
eternal life.

| Thought 4 Today |
The worst sinner in human
history has been saved and transformed by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Saul,
a Jewish intellectual, tortured Christians and tried to make them blaspheme. He
hunted them down and hauled them off to prisons. He murdered them and approved
of their being extinguished from society. As Hitler, many centuries later,
hated and killed the Jews, Saul hated and killed the Christians, regardless of
their gender or age. This very same man, described as the chief and foremost of
sinners, met Christ, and in an instant became a new human being. So changed was
he that a few days after meeting the Lord on the Damascus Road he was preaching
that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He changed from murderer
to preacher, in an instant! The point? If the worst of
sinners has been saved, then anyone can be saved! There is hope for that
alcoholic husband. There is hope for that son or daughter who is rebelling
against mom and dad. There is hope for that child on drugs. That highly
educated, intellectual atheist or agnostic can be saved! The worst of sinners
is already in the fold. If the worst can get in, anybody can get in - through
faith in Jesus Christ!

| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
