| Scripture 4 Today | Matthew 9:2 Amplified Bible
And behold, they brought to
Him a man paralyzed and prostrated by illness, lying on a sleeping pad; and
when Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralyzed man, Take courage, son;
your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted.
|
| Thought 4 Today | Real forgiveness includes a
cancellation of the penalty for the wrongdoing. The reason being that Jesus
paid the complete penalty for us through His death on the cross. Many people, when they sin,
expect something bad to happen to them. Then, when it does, they blame the bad
thing on God as though God is punishing them. But take Jesus' words personally,
"Son, Daughter, your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted." What great
news! Now let's add a new
dimension to this. Since we are children of God, God teaches us to forgive
people, just like he forgives us! When someone hurts you or wrongs you, can
you, from the heart, forgive them and remit the penalty? In other words, can
you forgive them and treat them just as if they had never wronged you? This means
you won't try and punish them in any way, like not talking to them, treating
them rudely, excluding them from things, or having an attitude around them,
etc. When God asks us to act like Him, He gives us the grace-divine, beyond
human ability, to do so. That is the only way to live the Christian life! When
you try and obey God or live the Christian life by your own power, you are
going to fail. God has to give you His ability. This is done by an impartation
of the grace of God. "My grace is sufficient for
you!" 2Cor.12:9

| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
