Many people, from all over the world, and from all kinds of different religions, claim to know God and be close to God. But there is one sure fire test that determines such a person's claim, and that is love. The Bible makes it clear that God is love and that He is all about love. It is also clear that people, who truly draw close to Him and know Him, manifest love. If a person says that they are devoted to God and that they live for Him, but then live their life with rudeness and coldness towards people, that person is either deceived or a liar.
 
The closer you truly are to God, the more you will love everyone. The more you know God, the more you will love all people. You can't be close to God and not love! It's impossible. Therefore, our love, or lack thereof, shows where we are in relation to God.
 
Love wants what is best for other people, even putting self aside so that others can be blessed. Love needs to be our motivation for everything we do. We can fool man by doing many noble things, but when the motivation for what we do is not someone else's good, we are operating in false love. Such things fool man, but not God!
 
Before you state to others how close you are to God, you better check your  love  because he who knows the true and living God, loves people!
