| Scripture 4 Today |
Psalms 131:1 MSG - A pilgrim song
GOD, I'm
not trying to rule the roost, I don't want to be king of the mountain. I
haven't meddled where I have no business or fantasized grandiose plans.

| Thought 4 Today |
Every human being needs to
have ambition. A person who has no ambition is a helpless and hopeless
individual. Ambition creates energy. Sometimes I learn great lessons from the
craziest places. One time I was going through a season of just feeling
lethargic. It was years ago and a silly movie was on called, "Wayne's World."
In the movie, Wayne, and his sidekick, Garth, were riding in a car when Wayne
says, concerning feeling tired, "I thought I had mono, but come to find out, I
was just bored." Mono is a viral infection where a person feels very tired all
the time. It has also been called, "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome." In the scene,
Wayne said that he was so tired that he thought he had this infection, but his
fatigue was coming from boredom! So we need ambition! But our
Scripture provides a balance, and the balance is that our ambitions need proper
limitations, and need to be controlled. If your ambitions are too high then you
are going to have to learn to live with constant frustration and
disappointment. We want ambitions that stretch us, and stretch our faith, but
not into the realm of absurdity. It would stretch me and my faith to want to go
to Africa, but it would be ludicrous for me to plan to go to Pluto. Try to find
the balance in your ambitions. Let's leave the desire to
be king of the mountain to the One to Whom it rightly belongs-Jesus! Sometimes
we are just doing good to get our bills paid!

| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
