Scripture 4 Today

Pslam 127:2 KJV

"...for so he giveth His beloved sleep."

Thought  4 Today

If God gives those He loves sleep, then sleep must be a gift of God. I am talking about actual sleep, not just rest. Rest is good but it's not sleep.

Sleep heals! Sleep heals the mind and emotions as well as the body. One renowned doctor, who was a specialist in at least three areas of medicine, told me that during sleep the immune system renews itself. As I write this I can't help but to think of my uncle. He was a brilliant doctor. One time when I was a boy he told me that he didn't believe in sleeping eight hours a night because if you did that you slept one third of your life away. I remember being impressed with that statement. My uncle would sleep from about midnight until 4 or 5 in the morning. After years and years of that, while he was still in his 50's he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He spent the last 20 years of his life in a nursing home due to the disease. He is not the only person I have known to come down with a neurological disorder due to a life of insufficient sleep.

Sleep must be vital because Satan fights it so. Do you realize how many people can't sleep?  People who have trouble sleeping need to memorize and claim this promise from God in Psalm 127:2 each night in prayer.

You can do as much damage to your body and life span by not sleeping, as you can by eating junk food and being a couch potato.

If God gives His beloved sleep, then sleep must be good, and not sleeping must be bad.

Sleep - enjoy it. It's a healing gift to you from God!

A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord

JesusRomans 10:9 NLT:  "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.

PRAYER:  "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior.  I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead.  This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life!  Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love.  Jesus, you are the Son of God!  From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me.  I surrender myself to God.  I am now Yours.  Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart.  Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home.  I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me!  Amen."

Wow!  When nearly 70 people are showing up for morning prayer each day at 6:00 AM at the church and praying with fire and authority, weeping, shouting, pacing, and laying prostrate before the Lord, I'd say revival is in the air and we're on the verge of a fresh move of God in Huntsville and America!  That's what's happening right now every day at Word of Truth!  In history, the precursor to true and sustained revival has always been intense corporate prayer.  Come join this chariot at 6:00 AM through Monday, 26 July, no matter your church affiliation! ...Pastor Dan Cheatham, Associate Pastor

I've served in churches with thousands of members and I have never seen this many people show out for early morning prayer in any of them.  What's happening here is a supernatural God-thing!  Glory is in the house!  ...Pastor Terry Bennett, Youth Pastor
