| Thought 4 Today |
One time my former pastor, the
late John Osteen, was reading the Gospels. He read where Jesus said to
make
things right with men before we offered a gift to God. He read where
Jesus
spoke powerfully about us forgiving one another, repeatedly and daily,
if necessary.
He read Jesus' instructions for us to love our enemies and pray for
people who
mistreated us. He read Jesus' warning that when we hold anger or malice
in our
hearts towards another person, it puts us on dangerous spiritual ground.
Then
he read where Jesus healed multitudes of people of all kinds of
sicknesses and
diseases. After contemplating all that he read that day Pastor Osteen
said,
"Lord, I don't see where you preached on the subject of healing. I do
see where you healed a lot
of people, but I want to read your healing sermons." Pastor Osteen then
said
that God answered him by saying, "All of those things you read about
treating
other people right, and forgiving people, not being angry with others,
and not harboring malice
in your heart towards others who have treated you wrong, THOSE WERE MY
HEALING SERMONS!"

| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
