| Thought 4 Today |
Consider Who uttered the
words above. It was the Lord Jesus Christ. If anyone knows about prayer, if
anyone knows how to pray, it is Jesus. You may be able to argue with me or
someone else about the proper mechanics of prayer, but you can't argue with the
One who invented prayer and gave it as a gift to mankind. Jesus is the Creator
of prayer. He is the Guarantor of prayer. He is the Mediator of prayer. He even
gave us the usage of His Name in prayer. So, if anyone knows how to pray in
order to get the Father to hear you and answer you, it is Jesus. I believe this
last statement to be undisputable. Now, notice our text. Jesus
said! No, not some modern day theologian! Jesus said this! He said, "When you
pray, SAY." That's right. Real prayer is spoken! It is not done in the heart;
it is done with the mouth! If you don't speak it out loud with your mouth, it
is not prayer. In the mind and heart it is a thought. When that thought comes
out of the mouth it is prayer. Jesus never said, "When you pray, think." If Jesus said, "When you
pray, say," who are we to argue? I believe Jesus knows what He is talking
about. Remember God is the God of words! When He wanted to create how did He do
it? He spoke and said, "Let there be light!" (Genesis 1) Using words activates a
spiritual law and releases our God-likeness! Therefore, when you pray,
don't think or meditate. When you pray, SAY!

| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
