Hearing - it is a factual statistic that at least 70% of all people who profess to being a Christian are at home and not in church on Sunday mornings. This means that they are not even placing themselves in a position to hear the word. Faith comes by hearing! Romans 10:17. How can one's faith be built when they are at home reading Beatle Bailey on Sunday morning instead of hearing the word of God taught?
 
Receiving - Hearing and receiving what is heard are two different things. To observe the word, you must not only hear it, you must also receive it. That means you don't argue against it, reason it away, explain it away, ignore it, disbelieve it, or cast it aside as not pertinent to your life.
 
Loving - Of those who receive the word not everyone loves what they have heard and received. So, there is quite a difference between receiving and loving the word of God. His every word is for us and not against us. Everything He says to us in His word is for our good, for our benefit. Those who are truly wise love every word that proceeds out of His mouth!
 
Obeying - Jesus made it plain that the real test of being His disciple was obedience!  "Not everyone who calls out to me, 'Lord, Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually DO the will of my Father in heaven will enter."  Mattthew 7:21 NLT. 
 
Jesus said, "If you keep on obeying what I have said, you truly are my disciples." John.8:31 CEV.
