I never considered myself to be an analytical person, until my wife called my attention to it a few weeks ago. I always thought that being analytical was for the brainy, and I don't consider myself to be in that category. But she was right. Not that I'm brainy, but that I'm analytical.
 
This I know, that being analytical can rob your mind and heart of peace. If you are an analytical person you probably tend to analyze everything! Everything means that you analyze people, what they say, how they say it, what they do, what they don't do, their facial expressions, their behavior, etc. You probably analyze yourself too. And, when troubles or hard times come you spend hours and hours analyzing every nuance of every situation and it's possible repercussions. Doesn't sound much like a life of peace to me. Being analytical is a bad habit!
 
It's when we shut our minds off that God can speak to us. Our analytical nature gets in His way. Being analytical is our way of trying to solve our problems. But we need answers from God.
 
There is no peace in analyzing everyone and everything. And, God has called us to peace. He even wants us to have a peaceful mind.
 
Let's stop trying to figure everything out for ourselves. God's creativity will flow much better when our minds are quiet and when He doesn't have to compete with the loud voice of our analytical nature.
