2 Chronicles 12:9-10 Amplified Bible
"So Shishak King of Egypt
came up against Jerusalem...He took everything. He took away also the shields of
gold that Solomon had made. Instead of them King Rehoboam made shields of
bronze..."

| Thought 4 Today |
These days in the church are
days of bronze. I saw, lived, and experienced days of gold in the church.
That's why you can't sell me on these present days. I don't care how big your
church is or how much it is supposedly blessing the community. It's all bronze!
For those who never saw or experienced the days of gold, you may think these
are days of gold, but that is only because you never saw the real gold. You
mistakenly think that bronze is gold. I don't fault you or blame you. It's really
not your fault. When all you've seen is bronze you don't know any better. There was a day when people
got to church an hour early to place their Bibles in a pew to save their seats.
There was a day in the church when people fought over the front rows. There was
a day when everyone in the church worshipped and no one was sitting down. There
was a day when if you wanted coffee and donuts you went to Krispy Cream. There
was a day when ice cream was served...only in the ice cream shop. There was a day
when addiction was dealt with at the altar and not in a support group. There
was a day when young people came to church with big Bibles under their arms and
arcades were not needed to get them interested in God. O, Days of Gold, please,
please come back!

| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
