"...Lord, what about
him?"

| Thought 4 Today |
We're all worried about the
other guy. "Lord, you want me to forgive him, he should forgive me!" "I have
given so much to this marriage, what about him/her?" "I have done my financial
part for the church. It's time the others gave." "I have poured myself into
this venture. Let someone else do it for a while." On and on it goes as we
compare our actions to that of others. In answer to the question, "Lord, what
about him, Jesus said, "What concern is it of yours. You follow me!" (John.
21:22 Amplified Bible) Each of us is responsible to
obey God, be faithful to Him, and do the right thing in every situation, regardless
of what others do or don't do. As a husband or wife we can do our part in the
marriage and that is what we are accountable to do. If the other person is lazy
or disobedient, what is that to us? We must do what the Lord wants US to do. We
can't use the behavior of others as an excuse. If we obey God in tithes and
offerings, that is all we should care about. What others do is inconsequential.
We can obey for ourselves. We can't obey
for the other guy. And, if the other guy obeys or doesn't, that should have no
bearing on us whatsoever. What if someone is more
successful than we are? Success is determined by God and not by man. If you are
doing what God told you to do, regardless of the outward manifestations of
success or the lack thereof, you ARE successful! Be concerned about yourself
and about your obedience and faithfulness to the will of God! The other guy
will have to answer to God for himself!

| A Prayer To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Lord |
Romans 10:9 NLT: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus becomes the Lord of your life by your own personal invitation and declaration, and by believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
PRAYER: "Jesus, I invite you to be my personal Lord and Savior. I believe You died for my sins and that God has raised You from the dead. This very moment I declare aloud with my own mouth that You are Lord of my life! Thank you for Your forgiveness and your unconditional love. Jesus, you are the Son of God! From this moment forward I determine to live for You because You died for me. I surrender myself to God. I am now Yours. Thank you for saving me and making me a brand new person deep within my heart. Thank You for this new beginning and the assurance of heaven being my eternal home. I love You, Lord Jesus, because You first loved me! Amen." |
