There are two ways to look at the above verses and translations. 1. When you are in troubles, bondages, ruts, and bad times, don't let those things get into you! You can be in trouble but trouble doesn't have to be in you. When trouble is in you that means you have double trouble. You have trouble in your life, and now, trouble in your soul. Keep your soul free and soaring and you will be much better able to handle the troubles on the outside! When Tamar was raped by her half brother, Amnon, her father said, "Don't take this thing into your heart." That is great advice! Keep trouble on the outside. You will defeat it there!
2. When afflicted, we need some Iron to get into our souls! This Holy Spirit iron makes us stronger than our afflictions, hurts, and troubles! We are not called to be marshmallows. Let the Holy Spirit put some of His Iron into your weakened constitution. Let the weak say, " I am strong!" |
