Phillipians 4:12-13
Amplified Bible
...I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret
of facing every situation...I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers
me {I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner
strength into me: I am self sufficient in Christ's sufficiency}.

While waiting at the bus
station for the arrival of my mother, the old p.a. system crackled with a man's
voice as he called my name. I couldn't imagine who would be calling me there.
Absolutely puzzled and perplexed I picked up the phone to hear my wife's voice.
"Has your mother arrived yet?" she asked. As I was about to say, "No," I saw
the bus pulling into the terminal. Before I could even speak and with my eyes
on the bus, my wife said, "They just called the house. They found your aunt
dead in her bed." My mother had been visiting her sister and was stopping at my
house on her way home. Certainly she would have seen my aunt that morning. All of this unfolded within
seconds and a pain of grief hit me in the stomach. I was very close to my aunt
and had spent many a summer with her as I was growing up. Now I was shocked
with the news that she was dead, and I had to inform my mother! That's when it
happened. Suddenly and instantly a peace and strength was in me! Gone was all
nervousness and grief. I hugged my mother as though nothing was wrong. I got
her luggage and started driving home. I had the ability to calmly inform her of
the tragedy and help her through a terrible time. When is strength given? The moment you need it!
