When we think of destiny,
many think of building a big church or a worldwide ministry. Some feel that
their destiny is to be a huge success in the marketplace and from the
marketplace funnel money into the Kingdom of God. Others feel their destiny is
to make an impact in the arts. Usually our destiny is
spoken of in terms of something we are to do or accomplish on earth. Paul
seemed to have a little different slant on his understanding of destiny. Paul
felt that his destiny, as stated by his words, "For my determined purpose," was
a Person, Jesus. Paul's passion was to progressively, deeply, and intimately know
and understand the never-ending wonders of the Person of Jesus. Maybe your destiny is not a
project or an accomplishment. Maybe, just maybe, your destiny is getting to
know Jesus!
