The joy that come from God is called an "irrepressible" joy. Irrepressible means, "Impossible to control; not capable of being repressed."
I don't know why but I think of a fishing cork in the water when I think of the word, "irrepressible." A fishing cork goes underwater but it always bobs back up! It is buoyant.
Our joy is buoyant. Our joy may on occasion get submerged in the troubles of life, but it always pops back up! His joy is incapable of being repressed! Awareness of God's love, favor, Presence, and protection causes our joy to rise! If you are a Christian, His joy is in you! And, if you don't feel it right now, you will soon! His joy IN YOU is irrepressible! |
