This interactive session will be presented by Robert J. Doolittle, PhD. Dr. Doolittle is a retired faculty member of the University of Tulsa Department of Communication where he taught courses such as persuasion, conflict management and political communication for more than 25 years. Dr. Doolittle will explain the five most common mistakes we make in communicating and how to avoid them. You will learn about the Foundation Center and the TCCL Cooperating Collection, learn the basics of the grant seeking process, and become familiar with the resources available to you for grant seeking. Through Grantspace, you can now access a multitude of information about fiscal sponsorship, which is a formal legal arrangement in which a 501(c)(3) public charity sponsors a project that may lack exempt status.   TOOLS AND RESOURCES FOR ASSESSING SOCIAL IMPACT
 

TRASI is a searchable, expert-reviewed database of over 150 approaches to measuring the impact of social programs and investments. It also features a community portal for nonprofits, grantmakers, and social enterprises to connect with peers and evaluation experts. First launched in 2010, TRASI has been updated and redesigned to be even more user-friendly and resourceful, and is a great tool.
 

The TCCL Foundation Center Newsletter is a supplement to our Foundation Center Cooperating Collection at the Central Library.
