A Pilgrim Leaves a Trail: An Autobiography
The Rev. Bob Wells, an Episcopal priest, formerly of Lubbock, has written an autobiograpy which reveals how God's guidance helped him handle divorce, suicide and inner conflict, and how a Baptist minister became an Episcopal priest. A Pilgrim Leaves a Trail is a deeply personal, spiritual and psychological journey of how the author found and followed a pathway for him. Wells believes his life has been about seeking union with God and finding understanding through his faith. In the book he reveals the story of his life in hopes that it might help others.
A Baptist minister for 18 years, Wells chronicles the forces that made him change his faith and become and Episcopal priest. He shows how he struggled through divorce and through the pain of his young son committing suicide. Still, he embraces the challenges of life, including ADHD, remarriage, and even begins a telephone support hotline. Integrating spirituality and psychology into his practice, he tells how he feels God's guiding and supportive presence everywhere. "There is meaning in every journey that is unknown to the traveler," Wells writes. He seeks to show that that meaning will be eventually revealed, along with the wisdom of a caring God.
Robert Louis Wells is an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Texas. He received his BA from Louisiana State University and his MDiv from Golden Gate Baptist Seminary. He has served Second Baptist Church of Lubbock and was Assistant Rector at St. Paul's, Waco. He has also served as Executive Director of the William Temple Episcopal Center at the University of Texas Medical Branch and the Director of the Community of Hope at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. He is currently the Assisting Priest for Pastoral Care at St. Dunstan's, Houston. The book is available at Amazon.com. Contact information: 713.402.8034, bobwells4383@att.net. |
