Learning to Prioritize
We all have the same amount of time in a day, yet why is it that some people get so much done and others find it very difficult to accomplish those tasks needed or to make time for the people and things they love. Try these tips:
1. Schedule your time. Sounds basic, but I believe it is critical to taking control of your time. Get that calendar out and start using it for events, projects, activities and friends.
2. Do your most important tasks first. Usually the hard things in life take more time and effort. If the task is difficult then break it down into small time slots that you can schedule. Make sure it is your top priority each day. You will be amazed at how quickly it will get completed.
3. Do Less with better results. Choose what gives you the most gratifying results and best feelings and eliminate the rest. Find your "time waster" and try to minimize it.
4. Set boundaries. Determine what comfort level of To Do's is manageable for you and stick by that. Learn to say no and live your life by your priorities.
5. Add something fun to motivate you and keep you energized. Include a hobby or time with a friend. Knowing that you have that scheduled will help you stay focused and make you more productive.
