Organizing the Laundry Room
If space is premium, you probably have your laundry in a closet type area. You will need to pay particular attention to everything that you choose to put in this area. *Try to keep it to items related to laundry and perhaps one or two other related categories. *Placing items in baskets or containers will make it easier to access and keep it looking neat. *Remove unused products and watch your quantities to help you save space and live simple. *Add shelves or cabinets to vertical and/or horizontal space to expand your storage area.
If your laundry area is a full sized room, then you are more likely to use the space for another purpose. Some use their laundry area for crafts, or a mud room for coats and shoes and backpacks, or a sewing room, etc. *Design your space into "zones" for each purpose and limit the items in that zone to be related to that purpose only. *Treat each zone with the same clutter free goal - remove items not related to that space. Also watch out for how many of one item you are saving. If you have not used an item in over 6 months, ask yourself why and see if you can eliminate it altogether. *Add shelves or cabinets to vertical and/or horizontal space to expand storage zones. *Use baskets or clear plastic containers to keep like items together.
