Goal Setting -
Dream a Little
I would like to start out the New Year with Goal Setting as my
topic. I know, this is so typical for this time of year, but it really
has lots of value. I am going to ask you to dream a little and
expand your goals.
I am willing to bet that more people will include "Get Organized" as one of their goals for 2010. Is this going to be the year you finally clear out the spare bedroom and make it your hobby room? Whatever that organizing challenge is, start to see it finished. Dream how your life will be easier knowing that you have a place to do your crafts with all your tools neatly arranged with easy access. Dream about that first project you will create in your new hobby room. Picture the colors, the smells, the sounds in your new space. Image yourself telling others about how wonderful it is to be organized and how much you love your new space. See the finish line and see yourself crossing it a winner.
Write this goal down and include how you will feel when it is completed. Write down why this is so important to you. Now set the date with yourself to accomplish this goal. Go ahead, commit to it. Write it on the calendar, tell friends, put your master plan together. Once you have that dream defined and you see the final result in your mind, you are now ready to address the challenge.
Seeing your dream come true will have so many positive effects that you will wonder why you did not do it sooner. Start small - one surface area or one draw. Engage friends to help and offer to help with their organizing project. Set the mood with your favorite music. Engage a Professional Organizer - don't be embarrassed to ask for help. This is the time of year when we all "dream" about "what if's". I am asking you to turn that dream into a reality.
