December  19th        Structure and Clear Limits                           12:00- 2:00 p.m.              Location - CYC-3826 � Douglas

How do you prevent chaos in ayouth environment without stifling youth's positive energy? Youth need structure and clear limits in order to feel safe. In this workshop, participants analyze structure in their programs and practice identifying and maintaining clear limits.  Registration Fee:  $20.00

January 17th        Reframing Conflict                       

6:30 -8:30 p.m.      Location -Roosevelt High School Des Moines

What role do you play in conflict situations with the youth in your program?  Do you know how to turn a conflict into an opportunity for growth?  In this interactive workshop, learn the High/Scope model for reframing conflict and general principles of conflict resolution, then spend time practicing with real-life  scenarios.  Offered in collaboration with DMPS Community Education.  Please register online at dmced.org.  Registration Fee:  $22.00

January 23rd          Building Community                                 

12:00- 2:00 p.m.              Location - CYC-3826 � Douglas

Do you know what it takes to build an emotionally and physically safe space for youth? Building a safe community of peers and adults is essential for youth to learn and develop. This workshop introduces activities designed to support the community building process.  Registration Fee:  $20.00
