Greetings!

It's only natural that we pause in November to express gratitude for the things we may overlook in everyday life. This month, we are grateful for:

- Generous partners like the Addam C. Medina Foundation, which has funded our service learning work with Merrill Middle School 7th graders.

- An exciting opportunity to partner with the Mid-Iowa Health Foundation to engage youth to improve the health of their community.

- Five youth from the ID Action Youth Advisory Board who raised 77 food items and more than $130 in cash donations for DMARC this weekend!

- Unexpected donations, encouragement, and time that our colleagues and partners give to us!

Thank you! We could not do this without you.

Sincerely,
Amy, Julie, Danny, Amelia, Michelle, and Jennie

The 9/11 poem published in our last newsletter by Blair Liveringhouse has been recognized by President Obama! Blair recently received a letter and photo from the President acknowledging her poem. Congrats, Blair!

See the recap video of our Sidewalk Chalk Flood this summer!

Mark your calendars for CYC's opportunity to partner with DMARC on Saturday, February 4. We are looking for volunteers to help with food donation drives at local grocery stores. Contact Amelia if you're interested!

The KWAKers (Kids with a Kause) filmed a video this weekend for the Forest of Hope project. Stay tuned for the finished product! Thanks to Justin Norman from Shrieking Tree for his help.

Community Needs

The Urbandale Community School District's Clothing Closet is in need of clean, gently used clothing donations of all sizes between infant and adult. To donate, drop clothes at the Urbandale High School office or CYC, and we'll get them to the Clothing Closet.

Are you looking for a way to give to kids in need this season? Battle the Cavities, a CYC Youth Venture team that presents to kids on oral hygiene, needs dental floss to give away in their dental care kits. Individual packs are requested. To donate, call 243-4292 or stop by the CYC office.
