Friday, September 30 @ 3:00 pm - A half-hour Rosh Hashanah Family Service for parents and their young children from birth to age 7. Followed by apples and honey. The service will include brief prayers, a songs, a story and a gift for all families to celebrate the beginning of the New Year.
Saturday, October 8 @ 6:00 p.m. Neilah, the concluding service of Yom Kippur will begin in our main sanctuary. Participants are invited to come up and offer their own prayers in front of the ark. Kids receive glow sticks.
Monday, October 17 @ 6pm - Pizza in the Hut - Sponsored by the Shirley and Paul Pintel Nursery School- A pizza dinner in the synagogue's Sukkah with entertainment by "Musical IQ". RSVP to Rona Klein 201-796-9434. |

Special Family Service for families with children of all ages on the first and second days of Rosh Hashanah (September 29 and 30) and on Yom Kippur Day (October 8). Services begin at 10:15 am. Cost for the entire immediate family (parents and children) is $275. Babysitting is available beginning at 9am with reservations only. Songs and stories appealing to children ages 4 through the teens are the main features of Temple Emanuel of North Jersey's 90 minute High Holiday family services, starting at 10 a.m. on Rosh Hashanah, Thursday, Sep. 29, and Friday, Sep 30, and on Yom Kippur, Saturday, Oct 8. The family services, which are free, open to the public, and designed for people with limited or no Hebrew reading skills, will be led by Cantor Rebecca Zwiebel.

Thursday, September 29 @ 2:00 p.m. the Glen Rock Jewish Center offers Apples and Honey: a "taste of the high holidays" on the first day of Rosh Hashanah. The service will include the main themes of the high holidays including learning to play the shofar notes, rubber ducky tashlich and more. It is appropriate for families with young children up through adults, and everyone gets an aliyah to the Torah. Dessert nosh. RSVP by phone or e-mail to obtain FREE tickets.
Tashlich will take place September 29, at 5:30 p.m., at the Duck Pond off Prospect Street in Glen Rock.
Yom Kippur Yiskor will take place Saturday, October 8, at approximately 1:00 p.m.
Ne'ilah will take place Saturday, October 8, at 6:15 p.m. and will include a sing-a-long Havdalah (end of Shabbat ceremony). Everyone is invited to bring a shofar to participate in playing the shofar blast that ends the holiday. |
