BIRTH OF A VISION...A SAVIOR IS BORN!

Luke 2: 7, 13-14
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.

What a blessed time of the year! The air is crisp and the days are a little shorter.
As the season comes upon us, the finacial needs of nonprofits grow and Wisdom In Living life Ministry is no exception.  As a faith based nonprofit, many times people may think that God, will provide. which is a true statement but God provides for this ministry through caring and concerned donors like you.  This ministry is totally dependant on donations to continue.

Your partnership in our mission will most certainly reap eternal rewards in the many families that we help.

Please consider us in your end of the year giving.

Thanks for making a difference!

This is the time when Christmas should have special meaning...Our eyes are filled with happy families buying gifts with plans to sit and open presents under the Christmas tree. The malls are filled with songs of Jingle Bells and Dashing through the snow in a one horse open sleigh. Our churches are permeated with Silent Night and Away in a Manger.

I wish that I could say that was true for those families and individuals who are imprisoned by addiction; but it is not. For them, and their families, it is a time of depression, frustration, confusion, pain, loneliness and sometimes death. When will it end? And there are so many voices that say this is the way. We, as Christians, know there is only one way and it is found in a person and His name is JESUS!

Christmas for me is not a one time a year event. When I found Christ my whole life began to change. You see, it was when I found JESUS that I experienced the new life that was promised. It was God's gift found in a manger that moved me beyond recovery.
2 Corinthians 5:17 doesn't say, if a man be in God he is a new creature, it says, if a man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things pass away and behold all things become new.

Most treatment programs involve minimal emphasis on personal accountability and moral choice in the active addict.  There is a tremendous emphasis on reliance in a nebulous "Higher Power", who it is believed, will aid the "recovering" individual in remaining "clean and sober."  This approach removes all responsibility from the addict from his or her choices and relegates God to a "helper" rather than Savior.

Through practical experience in our own lives, and watching the transformation occur in hundreds of others, we have come to know that Jesus Christ is the only Higher Power, and in naming Him addicts can transcend "recovery," and instead embrace "transformation," moving beyond recovery!  Again, this is where addiction ends and life begins!

Let us all rejoice this season, for a savior is born!

                            God's Plan...
This time of year, I always think how grateful I am that God had a plan. This plan was made before the foundations of the world and it was perfect. He knew that He was going to send His son to redeem mankind. When His son came, He knew what His objective was and what He had to do to accomplish it. Jesus who was fully man and fully God had to yield His human desires to live and go to the cross and die for you and me. This plan was to give the gift of eternal life to all who would just believe. Because of this plan, we have hope today which is the eternal and everlasting hope with our Father in heaven. God's plan is always perfect, and if mankind would just look to Him, how much less suffering would he have to endure?  I think back to my life in addiction, and how I wandered from pillar to post with no plan. Then God put me on a collision course with Winn Freeman who helped me put a plan together. This is the same plan that Jesus implemented on His disciples, and it is the same plan I give to others today. First, He called them out of the world to get them away from the negative influences.  Secondly, He showed them a godly lifestyle, as the disciples went and saw how Jesus lived.  Thirdly, He expanded their understanding, as Jesus taught the disciples in parables.  Lastly, He taught them how to minister to others as they preached, taught, and healed the sick. This is the plan that changed the lives of those men, and it is the plan that changed the life of this man, and it's all because of God's perfect plan.  Let us remember the true meaning of Christmas and how God redeemed mankind with His perfect plan. However, remember that God also has a perfect plan for each of us to be restored if only we will follow Him.   Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

Merry Christmas & God bless
