We are about to celebrate another Thanksgiving holiday, and I am amazed as I reflect back historically and how it began.

The first Thanksgiving was really a gathering, a feast brought about by the bountiful harvest that the Pilgrims experienced after a long devastating prior year. They set ground at Plymouth Rock on December 11, 1620. Their first winter was devastating. At the beginning of the following fall, they had lost 46 of the original 102 who sailed on the Mayflower. But the harvest of 1621 was a bountiful one. And the remaining colonists decided to celebrate with a feast -- including 91 Indians who had helped the pilgrims. In fact, if the native Indians did not help, I do not believe they would have had any of the  bounty they had. Therefore, there would not have been a celebration at all.

This reminds me about the importance of your involvement in this ministry and if not for those of you who are diligent and  lend your support, either financially or in resources, we would not have much to celebrate in the bounty found in the changed lives that we see on a daily basis.

God has purposely placed you as an important part of Wisdom In Living Life Ministry.

God is still working!

Pieced Back Together

One mom's example of restoration in progress...

Lori Small
Lori Small has been clean from crack cocaine for a year now. She is beginning to see her life be pieced back together.  Her love of the drug no longer controls her; yet, it is the love for her children, a yearning to have them back, and a relationship with Jesus Christ, which drives her.  Through counseling and training at Wisdom In Living Life Ministries, Lori has found hope through the support of others like herself, and a trust in God to guide her through each day.

Tragedy struck her life at a very young age

Lori grew up in a private school and knew God because of her parents.  Tragedy struck her life at age four, when READ MORE>>>

Farron's Fruits "A word to preserve"

Giving Thanks, and Thanks in Giving

Farron's Fruits picWhat a great God we serve! We should be thankful for the great things He hath done. In Psalm 103 God's Word tells me not to forget all of His benefits, for He has delivered me from a life which was riddled with sin and despair. He has forgiven me of all my wrong doings and made me righteous. He has healed the afflictions of my body that the drugs had caused. He has redeemed my life and gave me something solid to stand on. Yes what a great God I serve and how thankful I am to be in His service. When God gives so much why can't we give just a little? If we are truly thankful should we not want others to experience the same miracle we have encountered? Being thankful for what God has done is a two way street as we show our thankfulness by reaching out with our resources to others. Therefore let us be faithful for He is faithful and remember Psalm 100:3 "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name." We show Him our thanks and bless his name when we give to others! What gift, talent or resource has God given you to bless someone else?

One man's resources: opens the door to eternal rewards

Jim Cannon might appear to be, at first glance, an ordinary man.   Humble in nature with a kind smile. As I spoke with him, the word ordinary begins to turn to extraordinary as he begins to unveil to me how his life's vocation began by a "few simple acts of kindness" from others who invested in his life and how it turned into three vocations, purposed in one mission:  teaching the gospel, and mentoring discipleship for Jesus Christ.
