Dear Alumni and Friends,
September has arrived and fall session is in full swing. Our hallways, classrooms, the bridge, computer labs and cafeteria are bursting with students. Our tenth day enrollment shows that headcount is up 2.5% and credit hours are up 4.1% from last year. Things have definitely changed over the years. Click here to see a photo of enrollment in the early 60s.
With so much growth in our enrollment, I know you will appreciate an update of our Master Plan and construction projects. We have included a story about our downtown Joliet campus plan and we will be introducing our new athletic logo in this issue.
As always, we have many exciting things happening at our campuses, and we want you to be a part of it. E-connections offers you opportunity to reconnect. Also, you can join our alumni group on Facebook or LinkedIn.

JJC City Center Campus Plan
Building plans are moving forward for the Joliet Junior College City Center Campus after the Joliet City Council on Aug. 16 approved the sale of the adjacent White Store building at 235 Chicago Street to the college. At the meeting, Dominick Domenica of DKA Architecture presented three different renderings for a new 150,000-square-foot building that would stand on the White Store property at the corner of Chicago and Webster Streets. The proposed 10-story structure would house the college's nationally renowned culinary arts and hospitality programs as well as workforce development. GED/ESL training, and adult education programs. The college estimates that this plan would bring over 500 additional JJC students to the downtown Joliet area. JJC President Dr. Gena Proulx told the city council that the college's planned enhancements to the City Center Campus include the relocation of adult education, GED Services and the Will County Work Net Center to the new building.
