Dear Alumni and Friends,

I hope you had a great summer! August is here and we are gearing up for the new academic year.  In this edition of E-Connections, we will update you on campus construction, share a photo gallery of our 29th Annual Alumni Brunch held in June, offer photos and outcomes of the JJC Foundation Golf Outing also held in June, tell you about a successful JJC alum and ask you to participate in a survey that gives you an opportunity to tell us how we are doing.

There is a lot going on at JJC, and we want you to be a part of it. Whether you graduated, attended a few classes or are a friend of the college, E-Connections gives you the opportunity to reconnect with the nation's first community college. Also, join Joliet Junior College Alumni groups on Facebook and Linked In.

All the best,

Kelly Myers

Now, imagine those once familiar surroundings suddenly unfamiliar. Hallways, classrooms and students all exist only in touch and sound.

20th Annual JJC Foundation Golf Outing
On June 21, 2010 the Joliet Junior College Foundation celebrated its 20th annual golf outing to raise money for student scholarships. The outing was held at the beautiful Joliet Country Club with 96 golfers attending. Guests enjoyed a cook-out lunch before playing 18 holes of golf.  The event ended with an awards dinner that included a silent suction. Thank you to Gilbane Construction for being this year's event sponsor.

The Foundation is pleased to announce that $27,000 was raised for scholarships for the 2010 academic year. During these difficult economic times, enrollment is up, which means an increase in the number of students applying for financial assistance. The foundation awards over $700,000 annually to the college's students.
