JJC Alumni Spotlight 

For Jennifer Thompson, taking time off work to study just wasn't an option. Like many of her peers, a tough economy means working full time-in Jennifer's case, 55 hours per week-while still pursuing her educational dreams.

We are excited about this opportunity to share some of the resources offered by the Office of Career Services.  To provide assistance to our alumni employers as well as our alumni seeking employment opportunities, Career Services has programs to help connect employers with job seekers.  A couple of resources are highlighted below but for a complete listing of all of our services, visit www.jjc.edu/info/careers.
 
The 11th Annual Joliet Regional Job Fair will be held April 15th at our City Center campus.  For more details and to pre-register visit www.jjc.edu/jobfair . 
 
Our online job board is now powered by College Central Network.  To post jobs or to search for opportunities log on to this state of the art system at www.collegecentral.com/jjc.  Below are some of the features of the job board that will be of interest to both job seekers and employers.
 
Employer Features 
  • Free system for employers to post jobs for part-time, internships, and full-time positions 
  • Employers post and edit their own positions 
  • Employers can search resumes and view portfolios  
  • Expire jobs when they have been filled 
  • Repost expired jobs when they become open again without recreating the posting
 
Alumni Job Seeker Features
  • Free access to jobs posted directly to JJC as well as the National database of over 50,000 jobs 
  • Upload up to two resumes for online submission 
  • Approve employers to search your resume or choose not to use this feature 
  • Access to resource videos and articles on career advice and current issues  
  • Privacy is respected and your data is not shared or sold

Scholarship Application Deadline is April 1, 2010
awardTo apply for JJC scholarships for the upcoming 2010/2011 school year, you must have completed the admissions process, have a JJC student identification number and complete the online scholarship application by the April 1, 2010 deadline.
