Mick Mulvaney is a Charlotte native and a graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School and the University of North Carolina School of Law. Following law school, Mulvaney spent several years practicing law in Mecklenburg County before moving south to Lancaster County.
Last year, running a campaign based on limited government and fiscal responsibility, Mulvaney unseated 28 year incumbent and Chairman of the House Budget Committee John Spratt.
Since going to Washington, Mulvaney has joined the Budget Committee and Small Business Committee and has quickly made a name for himself when he challenged the White House Budget Director for including assumptions in Obama's budget that are "not credible."
