Democratic Crony Corruption Rears Its Ugly Head in Mecklenburg County

Charlotte, N.C. - Mecklenburg County Republicans would like to say that we were surprised to read the Charlotte Observer article "No penalty expected for Sheriff Bailey for using county database", but who would we be kidding? 

Past practice of Democratic leaders in Washington, Raleigh and even here in Charlotte over the last few decades show a clear record of looking out for their own time and again until the public forces their hand.

MeckGOP Vice-Chair Claire Mahoney stated "Not surprising, but troubling.  The Democratically-controlled State Elections Board, the Democratically-controlled County Commission, and the Democratic District Attorney  ALL refuse to investigate or to act in any way to hold the Democratic Sheriff accountable for apparent election law violations. Cronyism anyone?"

There is only one solution.  If our elected leaders won't do their job and respect the law, then they should not be reelected.  Voters must hold them ALL accountable. 

We need new leadership in the Sheriff's office, on the Mecklenburg County Commission and in Raleigh that respects the rule of law more than party affiliation.
