NC DEMOCRATS GO?
... THE ANSWER? NC Democrats will do ANYTHING (including lying) to continue their 112 years of power in Raleigh. There is a case developing in Eastern North Carolina that every North Carolinian needs to know about.
Buck Newton, the Republican Candidate for NC Senate in the 11th District (Nash & Wilson Counties) has sued Senator A.B. Swindell and the NC Democratic Party for defamation related to a recent mailer, paid for by the N.C. Democratic Party and authorized by Swindell's campaign, which falsely claims that official court documents show that Newton was arrested on eight felony drug counts.
From the WRAL report on the matter:
The flier refers to an incident in 1990 in which Newton was charged with eight counts of drug-related crimes after he was mistakenly implicated in an undercover drug operation.
The charges were dismissed after the Watauga County district attorney discovered the error, saying the incident was a case of mistaken identity. A police officer involved in the operation was later relieved of his duties, according to 1999 documents provided when Newton sought his attorney's license.
"I have never ever been arrested on a drug charge. I was not arrested in this affair or any other drug affair," Newton said Thursday during a news conference in Wilson.
It doesn't matter if you are a Republican, a Democrat or Unaffiliated, WRONG IS WRONG. NC voters deserve better than this, and we don't need leaders like this making decisions about our children's futures in Raleigh.
Email the following Mecklenburg Democratic leaders and demand that they publicly repudiate these unethical actions by the NC Democratic Party and Sen. A.B. Swindell.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The NC Democratic leaders in Raleigh have been treating North Carolina as their personal fiefdom for far too long. It is time to take that power away.
