Christopher Hailey
MeckGOP Candidate for Sheriff
Background:
Chris has more than 23 years of experience in the criminal justice field. He began his law enforcement career with the Raleigh Police Department in Raleigh, N.C. and then with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, where he served in Pasquotank, Camden, Union, Mecklenburg and Wake Counties. Chris' last duty assignment with the Highway Patrol was as a Training Coordinator at the NCSHP Training Academy in Raleigh, N.C. He also earned an Advanced Law Enforcement Certification while with the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Chris is currently the Director of Public Safety Training at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, N.C. In this capacity, he oversees basic training and continuing education certification for police, fire and medic agencies on a state and local level.CORE VALUES: Cooperation & Collaboration - Develop mission critical programs designed to engage and encourage citizens, business community leaders and sheriffs deputies to get more involved in the community while strengthening ties with municipal police departments.
Education & Training - Work with local community colleges to train and update deputies in the latest law enforcement technologies.
Prevention & Rehabilitiation - Review and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of rehabilitation and prevention programs; ensuring that all taxpayer funds are used wisely.
