MeckGOP Chairman's Corner
May 6, 2010

Judicial Races.  Many thanks to all of you who voted in the primary election on Tuesday  (including those of you who voted early)!  We are excited to report that all five of the Republican judicial candidates supported by the MeckGOP will be moving on to the general election in November!  In fact, in their race for a seat on the North Carolina Court of Appeals, Steven Walker and Rick Elmore, both Republicans, defeated two Democrats and will now face off in the general election in November guaranteeing a Republican victoryAnn Marie Calabria, Bill Constangy and Matt Osman will all also move on to the general election after finishing first in each of their primaries.

Thanks for using those judicial voting guides!  Also, a special Thank You to those of you who volunteered to distribute them on Election Day and during the Early Voting.  You are the strength of the MeckGOP, and we need many more like you.

County Commission At-Large.  We are also excited to report that, after a tough at- large primary race with many outstanding Republican candidates, Jim Pendegraph, Dan Ramirez and Corey Thompson will move on to the general election against the three incumbent at-large Democratic county commissioners.  We are excited about these candidates and are looking forward to a clean sweep in November!  We hope to have your support and continued volunteer efforts for these and our other outstanding candidates over the next six months.  We are just at the starting line, but we are excited about our opportunities in victory lane in 2010.

Eighth Congressional District Run-off.
Finally, if you live in the Eighth Congressional District you are not done yet.  Tim D'Annunzio and Harold Johnson will be running in an important Runoff Election on June 22, to see who will take on Rep. Larry Kissell in November.  Study these candidates and make sure you vote on Tuesday, June 22.
