Steinway Factory Tour

Now that preliminary plans have been made for the Steinway Factory tour, Diana Tetzlaff has assembled an itinerary for this exciting trip.  NEPTA members are invited to sign up along with one guest per member.  There is no minimum (or maximum!) age requirement for the tour, however if you are bringing a child, please keep in mind that the tour lasts 2 hours, and is not hands on. 

In order for us to take advantage of the special group rate at the hotel of $169 (plus 14.76% tax and $3.50 occupancy rate for a total of $197.44 per room), group reservation policy requires a minimum number of rooms booked by our organization.  Therefore, we need to have an estimate of how many members are planning on attending the trip, as this will affect our ability to secure this reduced rate.

Please note that the completed registration form along with payment for the hotel and transportation will not be due until Wednesday, Feb. 24, so if you are uncertain of your decision, you still have until that date to sign up.

PRELIMINARY ITINERARY TO NEW YORK CITY
APRIL 20-21, 2010

TUESDAY, APRIL 20
* 9am: Meet at M. Steinert and Sons Showroom in Natick for complimentary light breakfast snacks, provided by Steinert's.

* 9:30am:  Board shuttle bus for NYC

* Those wanting to leave their car overnight in the Steinert's Natick parking lot may do so but will need to provide their license plate number in advance for security purposes.  

* 9:30am- 2:30pm Travel to NYC with a lunch stop at a place to be determined (members are responsible for paying for their own meals/refreshments during the trip).

* 2:30pm:  Arrive at the Courtyard Marriott New York/LaGuardia, 90-10 Grand Central Parkway, East Elmhurst NY 11369

Special Group Rate $169 (plus 14.76% tax and $3.50 occupancy rate for a total of $197.44 per room). Room choices include either a king bed with a pull out couch, or a room with two double beds. Optional Evening and Activity Plans
* 5pm: Dinner at the hotel or other location
* 7pm: (Optional Activity)  Board our chartered bus for Lincoln Center  
* 8-11pm: Attend the opera Tosca performed by the Metropolitan Opera Company.  All members and guests interested in attending the opera must buy their own tickets in advance online or by phone.  There are various price levels still available at the Met's website.
* 11pm:  Board the chartered bus and return to Courtyard Marriott.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21
* 8:30am: Depart hotel for Steinway factory located at 1 Steinway Place, Long Island, NY
 
* 9-11am: Tour of Steinway facility.  Please note that the factory is not handicapped accessible and stairs are involved.

* 11:30am-1pm:  Lunch at a restaurant to be determined.

* 1pm:   Depart for Natick

* 6pm:  Approximate arrival time in Natick

Chartered bus fees will be approximately $60 roundtrip per person. A deposit of $60 per person is required to reserve a seat on the bus. Once we receive all registrations a final price will be determined before the trip. BUS TRANSPORTATION IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
