As we celebrate Mendelssohn's
200th birthday this year, the performance/lecture given by Phyllis Lehrer and Ena Bronstein Barton at our opening meeting in September showcased the refreshing possibilities when assigning his repertoire to our students.  Their presentation was relevant, fascinating and inspiring, and many thanks go out to both artists for sharing their knowledge with us. Click here for the meeting notes and handouts. Many thanks to Linda Vieira for her work in preparing the notes.

Our music sale on that morning benefitting the NEPTA Scholarship Fund grossed $400!  Many thanks to Ruth Ross for organizing the event and carrying the boxes back and forth from her home.  Ruth has offered to organize another music sale early next year.  More information will follow in the next NEPTA newsletter in January 2010.

I look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting, Monday, Oct. 26, at the Wellesley Free Library.

NEPTA Mentoring Program

The NEPTA Mentoring Program was officially launched with a Mentor and Mentee meeting over the summer! Both participants were extremely enthusiastic about the opportunities to learn, and to give back. We have several Mentees waiting for a match.

If you have benefited in the past from observing master teachers, please consider giving back by becoming a Mentor. It is also a wonderful way to develop collegial relationships with NEPTA members whom you may have never met. Mentors should have at least 15 years of teaching experience.

If you are interested, please contact the NEPTA Mentoring Program Committee:
