Happy Father's Day
We are Celebrating with You

Happy Father's Day to all of our dads out there! It's no secret, most of our scrap bookers and die cut machine users are women, but not all. We hear from men who make signs to advertise their businesses and decorate their classrooms, cut decals for life size or model cars, and design for entertainment venues.

Whether you're a man who is into cutting machines or not, we pay tribute to you and your day. Thanks for giving of yourself to young - and not so young - children.

Quote of the Day
"When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.  But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.  "

- Mark Twain, 1874

Did you know it?
A. Study of flags

Since we're between the U.S. commemoratives of Flag Day and the 4th of July...it seemed an appropriate time to know the word. Now you can forget it - because you may never see it again.

Crafting Tip of the Day Tip
Using Pictures as Font

Give your scrapbook layout a unique style while you add to the theme. Instead of cutting from just cardstock, use your cartridges or dies to cut photos. A child's face can be a flower center, petals and all. Use the shadow feature to silhouette the same shape with a complementing color or pattern.

Below are pages from a summer scrapbook - where the words Beautiful Sunrise were cut with a Cricut font cartridge from the sunrise photo. It's a perfect match for the surrounding photos.

2010 Relay For Life of Winnebago County ANZAC
Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Clock Tower Resort

Relay for Life is "a celebration of life in honor and in memory of those whose lives have been touched by cancer." Groups participate in teams and take turns relay style for 16 hours. With pledges coming in, the plan is to raise money to fight cancer.

Tim, a member of our Craft-e-Corner staff, knows very well what it feels like to have a family member touched by cancer. His mom is a survivor, and we're happy to support this Relay for Life event...in honor of his mother's strength and health.
