Beverly Hills Garden Club Celebrates 50 Years by Donating to the Green Foundation

The Beverly Hills Garden Club recently celebrated its 50th anniversary by providing the Newport News Green Foundation $500 in grant monies to assist the foundation in promoting the creation and preservation of green space throughout the City of Newport News through advocacy, acquisition, and assistance to others.

Amanda and Liz DarnellThe Beverly Hills Garden Club celebrated its 50th anniversary at Le Yaca restaurant in Williamsburg on November 16, 2010, where a check was presented by Liz Darnell, President of the club. 


"We are excited about sharing a common goal of making our community better," said Amanda Wroten, Executive Director of the Newport News Green Foundation.  "Beverly Hills Garden Club's generosity will help make Newport News a more visually attractive place to live, work and play for current and future generations.  We are honored by their generosity and look forward to partnering with them in the future."
Annual Fund Campaign


The Newport News Green Foundation is currently conducting its annual fundraising campaign.  Donations to the campaign are 100% tax deductible and go to fund the Foundation's mission - to promote the creation and preservation of green space throughout the City of Newport News through advocacy, acquisition, and assistance to others in order to make Newport News a more visually attractive place to live, work, and play.  You can make a donation online on the Foundation's website - www.newportnewsgreenfoundation.org - or by contacting the Foundation office at (757) 597-2842.  Thank you for helping to preserve a greener future!
