Holiday Note from our Staff...

At this joyous time of year, we are grateful for our work with you. We wish you abundance, happiness, and peace in a new year filled with hope.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!

The BTInet Staff

btinet.net or btinet.com?

The short answer is both!

BTInet has always provided email addresses using the domain "btinet.net". Today, that domain is still used and widely recognized amongst our customer base. In the recent months, we have began the process of moving our employee's email addresses to the domain "btinet.com" as a way to separate BTInet staff from our customers. The old "btinet.net" staff email addresses will still work for period of time, however, to ensure timely response from our staff please update your address book by making this change.

Please keep note of the following important email addresses:

support@btinet.com - Technical questions or to report any issues with your services

sales@btinet.com - Request the set up of new services or for any pricing questions

billing@btinet.com - Billing or account questions

customerservice@btinet.com - General questions

By the way, either domain name will work to visit our website, so feel free to use either www.btinet.net or www.btinet.com to check out our services online.

1GB Maximum Storage Quota

REMINDER: BTInet has a maximum storage quota of 1GB for each mailbox on our mail server.

Since the switch to MagicMail a few months ago, we haven't been able to show you how much of your 1GB storage was being used. But by the end of December, we will be able to show you what percentage of your available storage is being used. Below is an illustration from Tuxedo that shows where you can find this information:

1GB Email Mailbox Storage Quota

If your Disk Usage percentage gets close to 100%, you may run the risk of not being able to receive new email messages.

Here are some tips for controlling the size of your mailbox:

1)     Download your Email to a mail client like Outlook/Outlook Express or Thunderbird. Once you download messages to a mail client on your PC, it removes the mail from our server and makes certain you have storage for new Email messages. When you download your Email to your PC, you are no longer using Webmail storage. As a side note, using an Email client on your PC takes away the ability to see messages that have been downloaded to your PC using the Webmail client (webmail.btinet.net).

2)     If you do leave some messages on the in Webmail so that they remain accessible through the online client, don't forget to periodically clean out any old messages you no longer need. Also, remember to check your Sent Items folder for messages you no longer need.

3)     Save Email attachments (photos, video clips, documents, etc.) to your PC rather than leaving the message and the attachment in your Webmail Inbox.

4)     Make sure that your Webmail settings are configured to clean out your Trash folder upon logout. Even though you have deleted messages, they still exist in your Trash folder and they are using a portion of your 1GB storage quota.
